Born 03-03-1947 in Den HaagElizabeth van Zyl is best known as Carike Keuzenkamp, a legendary Afrikaans singer and former host of SA's first kiddies TV show, 'Kraaines'. In 1967 she starred in the Jamie Uys' movie 'Die Professor en die Prikkelpop', where she sang her song 'Timothy'. She has been active in the South African music industry for 43 years and best known for her 6 albums, 'Carike en Ghoempie in Kinderland', which got her SA Music Awards nominations for Best Afrikaans Children's Album. At SA Music Awards 16 (2010), she received a Lifetime Achiever award. She is also patron of Beeld Kinder Fonds; patron for Rapportryer Bible Quiz for Primary Schools and patron of Cantate Chamber Choir.
