Afrikaans insurer, Virseker, has announced its sponsorship of Afrikaans is Groot – one of South Africa’s biggest and most popular celebrations of Afrikaans music. Afrikaans is Groot is set to take place in November at the Moreletapark Auditorium in Pretoria and at the Grand West Arena in Cape Town.

Afrikaans is Groot features a star-studded line-up of top South African artists like Juanita Du Plessis, Theuns Jordaan, Steve Hofmeyr, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Bok van Blerk, Robbie Wessels, Lianie May, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Jay, Riana Nel, Jannie Moolman, Arno Jordaan, Jak de Priester, Eden, Corlea Botha, Dewald Wasserfall and more.
Virseker is well-known for being South Africa’s first and only, proudly Afrikaans short-term insurance brand and has been awarded exclusive rights as sponsor in the ‘insurance and financial services’ category of the event.

“This is truly a phenomenal event and it’s a huge privilege for us to be involved,” says Carl Louw, chief marketing officer of Virseker. “Afrikaans is Groot is a natural match for Virseker. In 2014 we’re putting our weight firmly behind a show that will not only deliver nine nights of lekker entertainment, but will also provide us with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with people whose hearts klop tjoklits for Afrikaans.”

Brendon Hargoves, chief executive producer of Afrikaans is Groot, shares Louw’s excitement. “This is far more than just a synergy or sponsorship. It’s the coming together of two great trademarks that shares the same love and passion for the Afrikaans language. We are truly looking forward to the road ahead with Virseker in promoting Afrikaans as a language through music.”

Afrikaans is Groot takes place from Friday, 14 to Saturday, 15 as well as from Tuesday, 18 to Saturday, 22 November at the Moreletapark Auditorium in Pretoria. It then moves to GrandWest Arena, Cape Town from Friday, 28 to Saturday, 29 November.
